On 1st November , Jozef Hudák, the firm’s expert in energy and dispute resolution, was named a partner at Poláček & Partners. He has been working at the law firm since its beginning, and in fact he was its first employee.

Pavol Poláček, founder and partner of Poláček & Partners, had this to say about the appointment: "Our law firm has been growing for several years, in terms of people, innovations and practice areas. Naturally, we want to keep pace and provide clients with the high-quality services and dose of humanity that they have become accustomed to and as required by our membership in the international Interlaw network. Jozef has been with us from the very beginning; he knows our DNA, in fact, he helped to create it. He is an excellent lawyer, and I trust him professionally and personally. The clients trust him as well.  For this reason, I am proud to be able to share with him the responsibility of running the law firm and the strategic supervision over solving the problems which clients entrust with us.”

Jozef Hudák described his career at the firm as follows: "We started out modestly, but during almost eight years of cooperation with Pavol, I became convinced that the dream of a law firm with a human, principled and professionally insightful team can be fulfilled. The firm has grown in many ways and I am glad to have been able to be here from almost the first day. I appreciate and feel the support not only of Pavol, but also the team of exceptional people around us at the firm, and I am honored to accept this challenge."

Jozef will take co-responsibility for the management of law firm and its development while overseeing the resolution of several cases. In the past, he was involved in the highly publicized case in which the firm represented the Slovak Institute of the Memory of the Nation against Andrej Babiš regarding his activities in the former State secret police force.  He also worked on the G-component case where electricity producers were forced to make controversial payments for access to the distribution network.

Jozef Hudák studied law at Comenius University in Bratislava. During his studies, he worked as a legal assistant at Havel, Holásek & Partners. Immediately after graduating, he joined Poláček & Partners as a trainee lawyer, where he was actively involved in the field of energy and the resolution of complex lawsuits. He speaks English.
